DENVER, May 4 /PRNewswire/ Freshies Food Corporation announced today that its all-natural, non-alcoholic drink mixes are approved for distribution in 24 additional Whole Foods Market, Inc. stores in the Southern Pacific region, which includes Southern California, Nevada and Arizona. Prior to this latest expansion, Freshies was in stock at 43 Whole Foods Market stores in 11 states throughout the country.
The first Southern Pacific Whole Foods Market store to offer Freshies has recently opened in Henderson, Nevada. The seven most popular Freshies flavors -- Bloody Mary Original, Habanero Hot Bloody Mary, Fresh Lime Margarita, Mojito, Strawberry-Kiwi, Lemon Squeeze Sweet-n-Sour, and Peach-Mango -- are lining the shelves.
"Our partnership with Whole Foods Market has allowed us to introduce thousands more health conscious consumers to Freshies," said Steve Barton, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Freshies Food Corporation. "Our expansion with Whole Foods Market has been remarkable and we feel it's because their shoppers find great taste and good health in our mixes."
California-based Gourmet Merchants International (GMI) is a primary distributor to Whole Foods Market in Southern California, Nevada and Arizona and was integral in the decision to approve Freshies for this region. "Freshies drink mixes are a cool, healthy and refreshing treat for consumers located in this particularly hot part of the country," said Seth Feldman, Vice President - Sales for Gourmet Merchants International. "I have no doubt that Freshies will do very well here." In addition to Whole Foods Market, GMI also services a number of specialty, gourmet and high-end retail stores in Southern California.
About Freshies Food Corporation
Freshies was born in 1994 when a chef and a bartender created a Bloody Mary mix that rapidly became famous throughout the ski towns of Colorado.
