Environmental Solutions Worldwide Inc. M Cat(TM) Mining Catalyst Integrated into Disposable Filter System
Posted on: Thursday, 4 May 2006, 12:03 CDT
Environmental Solutions Worldwide Inc. (ESW) (OTCBB:ESWW) announced today that U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) has tested the Company's proprietary M Cat(TM) mining catalyst for use in an integrated liquid cooled filter housing canister and a high temperature disposable filter system. The system is designed to lower exhaust gas temperatures below 650F, while reducing Particulate Matter (PM) on a high temperature disposable filter.
In 2005, ESW established a working relationship with Filter Services & Testing Corp. (FST) - an Original Equipment Manufacturer of a proprietary disposable fiberglass filter and liquid cooled filter canister. After performance testing of the M Cat(TM) by MSHA, as a stand alone unit, the M Cat(TM) was integrated into FST's Cool Canister & Disposable Filter combination system in preparation for field trials. The new combination product was installed on a heavy-duty Scoop powered by a large horse power diesel engine. Ongoing field results indicate the lifespan between replacements of the disposable filter has been extended from 6 hours to over 80 hours by the integration the M Cat(TM). This represents a +ten (10) fold increase in the useful lifespan of the disposable filter between change outs, which equates to excellent cost savings to the mine operators. The system also achieves in excess of 85+% Particulate Matter (PM) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) reductions while Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) levels remained within MSHA's standards.
Sim Bunderson, President of Filter Services & Testing Corp. (FST) remarked, "FST is currently working with ESW to market the M Cat(TM) with FST's high temperature disposable filter. Together, these components are showing considerable promise in offering a cost effective and efficient system for the mining sector. After installation of the combination system, observed visual test results indicated the equipment to be the cleanest operating of the fleet while simultaneously extending the life of the disposable filter. Customer feedback on the new system has been outstanding. FST is receiving orders and is shipping systems to three separate mines for use in underground diesel engine powered applications."
David J. Johnson, ESW's President and CEO commented. "There are currently thousands of mines operating across North America today. These mining operations depend on cost effective, heavy-duty diesel powered equipment to move tons of material on a daily basis. Unfortunately, one of the largest expenses associated with the usage of this equipment is limiting the toxic emissions produced by their engines, along with the costs related to the underground mines continuous air ventilation systems. With the introduction of this new combination system, mining operators will have a new product with the potential to help reduce a significant amount of the mines operating costs and meet the stringent emissions standards. The integration of the M Cat(TM) into FST's Cool Canister & Disposable Filter is yet another example of the adaptability of the Company's proprietary catalyzed substrates."
