A team of meat processing veterans announced today the formation of AnyTime Foods, a combined effort between Flint Hills Foods of Wamego, Kan., and Westin Foods of Omaha, Neb. Flint Hills Foods is aligning its Chicago, Ill., and Harlan, Iowa, bacon and value-added meat processing facilities with Westin Foods' bacon bits and chips plant in Fairbury, Neb. AnyTime Foods' president, Brett Elliott, calls AnyTime Foods "a unique, turnkey processing concept that lets food-service distributors, retailers, national accounts, manufacturers and branded marketers quickly and profitably seize the growing consumer demand for pork and other value-added meat products that are healthy, convenient and delicious."
Initially, AnyTime Foods will focus on pork processing with their strategic alliance of some of the industry's leading raw and cooked processors. AnyTime Foods' facilities produce slab and sliced bacon, fully cooked bacon, bacon toppings and bacon bits, while continuing to be industry leaders in corned beef and cooked meats (e.g., ribs, chops and roasts). Elliott said the company plans to continue its expansion into a broad range of meat processing options to keep up with consumer demand for innovative, high-quality products.
With AnyTime Foods' alignment of these assets, they have completed a strong, vertically integrated bacon complex. AnyTime Foods' future, however, does not stop with bacon and pork. With the resources of their technologically advanced facilities and the assets brought by each experienced, innovative partner, AnyTime Foods is positioned to be able to cook almost any meat product that consumers demand.
"AnyTime Foods is entirely consumer driven," Elliott said. "Each partner of AnyTime Foods has a vision to constantly innovate and improve their bacon and value-added meat products while staying close to the customer and delivering faster and better than anyone else. This shared philosophy is what has brought us all together."
Elliott continued, "We feel confident AnyTime Foods is the business model the industry wants. Today, customers are asking us for one big solution, with one point of contact, absolute consistency and the ability to customize proprietary, differentiated products that consumers demand."
Flint Hills Foods has been a leader in the protein industry since 1969, with innovative products ranging from portion-controlled steaks to ready-to-eat entrees. Along with AnyTime Foods, Flint Hills Foods owns majority interest in Premium Protein Products, a source-verified, value-added protein operation, which markets product solutions under several proprietary brands. Westin Foods is a diversified, privately held processed foods manufacturer. Core categories include olives, imported condiments and proteins; Westin Foods' brands include Mario and Fairbury.
