WILMINGTON, Del., May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers today announced that it is launching a new family of high- performance modifiers that will impart specific desired properties to a wide variety of polymers. The first product in the DuPont(TM) Entira(TM) line to be introduced globally is Entira(TM) AS.
Developed by DuPont-Mitsui Polychemicals Co., Ltd., a joint venture between DuPont and Mitsui Chemicals Inc., Entira(TM) AS offers excellent antistatic properties, high frequency weldability and high moisture permeability. Typically, less than 40 percent by weight of Entira(TM) is needed in a polymer compound to achieve the desired benefits. The launch of Entira(TM) AS in the Japanese market was also announced today by DuPont-Mitsui Polychemicals.
Compared to surfactants that are commonly used as antistatic agents for plastics, Entira(TM) AS provides permanent antistatic properties with little bleeding, excellent processibility and miscibility with polyolefins.
Applications for this innovative resin modifier include packaging materials for health and beauty aids; electronics; food and beverages; stationery; and industrial materials.
"We are very excited to be launching this innovative new family of modifiers," said Todd Becker, global market manager, DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers. "Each product in this family will offer compounders the ability to enhance specific performance properties to better meet end-user needs. Entira(TM) AS is just the first in a long line of high-performance modifiers that DuPont will be bringing to the marketplace."
