May 12--PASCAGOULA -- Two communities on opposite ends of the country recently sent donations of books to the Pascagoula School District.
About 8,000 more books from Prescott, Ariz., arrived May 4. The shipment was the second from Kiwanis Club members, residents and officials who sent 6,000 books to the Pascagoula City Library on April 24.
Students from an elementary school in Indialantic, Fla., also donated 2,000 books to the combined Central-Beach elementary schools May 2. The group Students in Service to America (SISTA) at Indialantic Elementary called their relief effort "Coast to Coast Books."
Sten-Barr Medical of Tampa donated a van and driver David Fulton transported the books from Indialantic to Pascagoula.
