General Environmental Management, Inc. ("GEM") (OTC BB: GEVM), a leading environmental and waste remediation company, today announced it has been awarded a three-year federal contract worth $5.8 million from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), based in Battle Creek, MI.
DLA engaged GEM to provide on-site environmental services and manage off-site disposal for 35 U.S. Navy installations in and around San Diego, CA. These services include project oversight; labor; provision of environmental supplies; training; logistics, transportation and disposal services; Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) Consulting Services; and the use of GEM's Treatment, Storage, Disposal Facility (TDSF) in Rancho Cordova, California.
"This $5.8 million contract, which runs the gamut of our services, is the largest in GEM's history, in terms of value and locations," stated Tim Koziol, chairman and CEO of GEM. "Through steps we have taken in the past few years, including our acquisitions of the TDSF in 2004 and K2M in March, we have built an extensive, integrated platform of best-in-class solutions, which attract various corporate and government customers. The expanded offerings and customers continue to drive the anticipated 20 percent to 25 percent revenue growth for GEM in 2006 as compared to 2005."
