May 16--A second elevator will be added to Macon's Mulberry Street parking garage to service the recently opened Gateway Plaza building downtown, if City Council affirms a committee vote this evening.
The city would spend about $145,000 out of a $1 million pot of bond money earmarked for downtown improvements to install the elevator, which would be on the side of the garage nearest the Gateway building.
Two council committees approved the project Monday, but the full council is scheduled to vote this evening.
