May 18--Live, upbeat music, tasty treats and decadent cake will be part of the celebration at Saturday's open house at the Clovis Civic Center.
The free event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at 801 Schepps Blvd. According to Manager Neil McMullin, visitors will be able to take self-guided tours through the large ballroom and four meeting rooms of the 30,000-square-foot facility.
The rooms will be set up for different functions as a wedding reception, auditorium, graduation party, classroom and luncheon.
Civic center employees will be available to answer questions, McMullin said.
Visitors will also be able to meet the civic center's chef, tour the kitchen and sample fare.
An inflatable bounce house will be set up to keep children entertained while parents can enjoy live music in the plaza provided by Clovis dance band Zumbale.
Cake and other refreshments also will be served.
"This (open house) is a great opportunity to showcase the building," McMullin said, "and to let the community see what the Clovis Civic Center has to offer."
