Libyan Population Grew 1.8 Per Cent in 1995-2006 – Census

Libyan TV reported today that the population census for 2006 showed that the Libyan population reached 5,670,688, including expatriates and 5,321,320 excluding the latter. The population growth for the period between 1995-2006 reached 1.8 per cent per year. The census also showed that there were 102,6 men for every 100 women. There are 963,610 households in Libya and the average size of these households is 5.9 individuals, the census showed. There are currently 961,846 homes in Libya according the same census.
