Jun. 3--The public comment period on the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality's proposed guidance for testing whether facilities that emit air pollution comply with state air-quality standards has been extended at public request through 5 p.m. Friday, July 7.

The "Source Test Guidance Manual" details the methods that DEQ recommends operators of air-pollution sources and their contractors follow when conducting tests on emissions.

The proposed manual is available for review on DEQ's Web site at www.deq.idaho.gov/public/comment.cfm.

For technical information on the manual, contact Michael Simon, at (208) 373-0212 or michael.simon@deq.idaho.gov.

Submit written comments Simon c/o Joan Lechtenberg, Air Quality Division, DEQ State Office, 1410 N. Hilton, Boise, ID 83706, joan.lechtenberg@deq.idaho.gov.
