Jun. 7--RALEIGH -- The city will add types of materials accepted for its curbside recycling program July 1, when a new recycling contract begins.

The following seven materials will be accepted:

* Corrugated cardboard (flattened and reduced in size to 3'x3', no pizza boxes)

* Paperboard (such as cereal or pasta boxes and paper tubes, no wax or metallic coatings)

* Non-drink plastic bottles (such as shampoo, ketchup or lotion bottles and peanut butter jars)

* Gable-top cartons (such as milk, juice and laundry softener containers)

* Aseptic boxes (such as juice, milk or soup boxes)

* Aluminum foil and trays (must not have any food residue)

* Soft plastic beverage rings, such as six-pack rings

Residents will be able to put these items in their recycling bins on their first regular collection day after July 1.

Questions about the curbside recycling program should be directed to Solid Waste Services at 831-6890.
