ICF International announced today that it was awarded a two-year contract with a potential five-year extension, valued at up to US$32 million, by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to manage the Region 9 Environmental Services Assistance Team (ESAT) program. Under the contract, ICF will provide on-site analytical support to the EPA at its Regional Laboratory in Richmond, California.

"We look forward to continuing to support the EPA's ongoing efforts to achieve its strategic goals of cleaning up and revitalizing contaminated land, protecting water quality, and achieving healthier outdoor air," says David Bauer, an ICF senior vice president. "For over a decade, ICF has supported the EPA's Region 9 in its efforts to improve program operations and increase laboratory efficiency and output."

ICF's significant role will include working with the EPA to provide field and laboratory analytical and quality assurance support for the implementation of agency programs, including air, water, Superfund, brownfields, and underground storage tank programs. The firm's role also will include fixed and mobile laboratory analyses of environmental samples, review of analytical data, review of quality assurance documentation, support for the air monitoring quality assurance program, and general laboratory support.
