Emergency Officials Say B.C.Â's Galiano Island Fire Remains at Status Quo

VANCOUVER (CP) - The 61-hectare fire on Galiano Island has not diminished despite favourable wind conditions.
Emergency operations centre co-ordinator Jim Platz calls it a status quo situation.
A wind warning was forecast Tuesday night but that didn't materialize, much to the relief of firefighters.
Platz says the evacuation order is still standing and the situation will be reassessed Wednesday morning.
A decision will be announced at a public meeting Wednesday afternoon.
Platz says crews are continuing to work on fire guards and putting out hot spots.
