Airgas, Inc. (NYSE:ARG) today announced that its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Roger Millay has been named the Senior Financial Officer (SFO) of the Year by Chemical Week magazine in the publication's August 2, 2006 issue.
Chemical Week's annual SFO of the Year award is given to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to businesses in North America through vision and leadership, corporate reporting and performance, social responsibility, innovation, and global competitiveness. An independent committee composed of some of the chemical industry's most prominent business leaders and experts chooses the winner.
"It is no surprise to any Airgas associate that Roger would be honored for his exemplary work as CFO," commented Airgas Chairman and CEO Peter McCausland. "His financial leadership has helped strengthen alignment around clear financial metrics, reinforced strong controllership and transparency at every level, and helped drive solid performance."
"I am extremely honored by this award," said Millay. "I share the achievement with the entire financial team and our Airgas colleagues who work hard every day to create value for our customers and shareholders."
Millay will accept his award at Chemical Week's 11th Annual Senior Financial Officer Meeting banquet scheduled for August 16, 2006 in New York City.
