Posted on: Tuesday, 19 September 2006, 09:00 CDT
Angel Fire Resort today announced that Dan Rakes has been promoted to president of Angel Fire Management, LLC. Angel Fire Management is the managing member for the multiple companies, which are generally regarded as Angel Fire Resort, including operations, real estate, timeshare and resort development.
"This reorganization will allow Dan's (Rakes) development team to concentrate on the strategic plan and development projects for the future while allowing Jon's (Mahanna) operational team to focus on the constant improvement of services to the membership, visitors and the Village of Angel Fire," says Tim Allen, chairman of the board. "In addition to his general counsel duties, Dan has been overseeing Angel Fire Real Estate and the resort development projects for the past two years. He is the obvious choice to lead as we head into an important period of new development and growth at Angel Fire."
Joining Rakes in Angel Fire Resort Management from their current operational responsibilities will be Kendell Hanson as chief financial officer and director of membership, Eric Guth as director of development and Bill Wilcoxson as director of human resources. Rakes and his team will oversee key upcoming development projects, including the new country club.
"We have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline," added Tim Allen. "This division of responsibility gives us the unique opportunity to draw upon General Manager Jon Mahanna's considerable operational expertise and input in these projects, while giving him the time to maintain his focus on service."
Rakes' previous position was general counsel for the resort. In this role he was credited with negotiating and drafting the National Recreation Properties, Inc. (NRPI) deal along with other significant projects. He has also won numerous major legal cases on the resort's behalf and is currently pursuing the Public Improvement District (PID) petition with the Village. His responsibilities for guiding the resort's legal policies, practices and real estate will remain the same.
