WHAT: National Foundation for Cancer Research Center for Molecular Imaging to Launch at Case Western Reserve University International Expert on Molecular Imaging to Speak at Case Spying on Biology with Molecular Imaging WHY: This is one of the first research centers in the United States dedicated solely to cancer molecular imaging. The Center is funded by a 5-year grant from the NFCR and will assist cancer scientist in identifying specific genes that are ideally suited for molecular imaging and diagnosis improvements . This will lead to earlier stage treatments for cancer patients. (Press release available) KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: David Piwnica-Worms, professor of radiology, molecular biology and pharmacology, and director of the Molecular Imaging Center at Washington University in St. Louis, will present a talk, titled Spying on Biology with Molecular Imaging. James P. Basilion, Ph.D., Associate Professor of radiology and biomedical engineering at Case School of Medicine and the Director of the new National Foundation for Cancer Research Center for Molecular Imaging at Case.
