Four Seasons of Fun in an RV
Posted on: Wednesday, 27 September 2006, 12:00 CDT
Each season in Michigan offers exciting opportunities to use your RV. We live in a four-season state that makes for diverse recreational activities any time of year!
Crisp mornings, apple blossoms, dogwoods, tulips -- they are sure signs of the onset of spring. These are special occasions when witnessed and experienced from your RV. April showers bring May flowers and many spring festivals that celebrate the arrival of warmer temperatures.
Summer is great for leisurely days at the beach, playing in the sparkling waters of one of the Great Lakes, or one of the thousands of inland lakes and rivers. Set off in your RV and visit a lighthouse, eat your lunch alongside a waterfall, or visit tourist towns offering quaint shops, cozy restaurants, and a variety of activities. There are over 1,000 campgrounds in Michigan, located along the Great Lakes and near popular summer destinations.
Autumn is a great time to visit one of the numerous apple orchards or the 30-plus wineries across the state. Enjoy the brisk, fresh air while sipping a cup of warm apple cider or biting into a luscious Michigan apple. While strolling through the vineyards, take a moment to behold nature's beauty as you watch the leaves turn from green to shades of red, orange and yellow. Some of the best fall colors can be viewed from the windows of your RV.
As fall gives way to winter, there is no question why Michigan is sometimes referred to as a "Winter Wonderland." Create memories with your children, making snow angels in the clean, unadulterated, first snowfall. That legendary lake-effect snow supports over 45 downhill ski resorts, 5,700 miles of snowmobile trails, and over 3,500 kilometers of Nordic ski trails -- all across the state. Equipped with thermostatically controlled furnaces and water heaters, the RV becomes the perfect mobile ski lodge, while your family enjoys a winter adventure.
