CHEC announces the launch of its new online program -- The CHEC Blog -- to provide tips to parents and families with easy, practical, and engaging ways to create a healthier lifestyle and keep children safe from harmful environmental exposures.
The first campaign on the CHEC Blog is 90 Tips for 90 Days - www.checblog.org. The Blog will utilize the greater CHEC community of celebrity, scientific, and premier authors such as Erin Brockovich Ellis, Dr. Harvey Karp, William McDonough, Olivia Newton John, Amy Brenneman, Laura Dern, and Meryl Streep. Content is also authored with input from the CHEC staff, Advisory Board, and Scientific Advisory Committee members, which are composed of prominent business and environmental leaders as well as physicians and scientists specializing in toxicology, pediatrics, environmental health, occupational medicine, and environmental studies.
"The blog is CHEC's voice -- meaningful, engaging, and empowering -- that is open to everyone to join in the ongoing conversations about children and environmental issues. As the newest educational forum, CHEC will continue to generate informative content for all parents to understand that simple actions and better information equals big differences and better health for all children." says CHEC CEO/Executive Director Christopher Gavigan. "This blog will continue to provide insight on trouble-free steps, exceptional products, news articles, and valuable solutions to reduce harmful chemical exposures in our daily lives."
The Children's Health Environmental Coalition (CHEC) is the nation's leading non-profit organization dedicated to protecting children's environmental health. For over 15 years, CHEC's mission has been to educate parents, and all those concerned with the welfare of children, about preventable health and development problems caused by exposures to toxic substances in homes, schools and communities. CHEC conducts reviews of extensive research concerning the links between children's health and environmental toxins, educates the public about these risks, and advocates for government action to protect children's health at the local, state, and national levels.
