8,500-Acre Gunnison Ranch to Sell at Auction

One of the Gunnison area's largest contiguous ranches will sell at auction Saturday, Nov. 18, with J.P. King Auction Company managing the sale.
The Double Heart and White Pine ranches, which were combined into a single operation in 1999, are made up of approximately 8,500 acres in Gunnison and Saguache counties.
The ranch also includes a hunting lodge at the foot of the Tomichi Dome, currently operated as White Pine Outfitters. "This upscale hunting lodge is ideally situated, adjoining the Gunnison National Forest," said Craig King, president of J.P. King.
Due to its size, the ranch will be sold in 55 parcels ranging in size from approximately 35 acres to approximately 729 acres, according to King.
Included in the sale are four homes, each on its own parcel. The widely varying landscapes include forest, grazing land and two miles along Tomichi Creek.
"We'd love to sell it all as an entirety, but selling in parcels will open up the process to far more bidders. For example, somebody might want to buy the hunting lodge and the 646-acre parcel adjoining it to operate as a private retreat or commercial outfitter business. Typically, in a sale like this, bidders will combine parcels to best meet their particular needs," said King.
Individuals interested in additional information about the property may contact J.P. King at 800.558.5464 or visit the company's web site at www.jpking.com.
J.P. King is the nation's leading auction marketing firm specializing in ranches, homes, condominiums, developments and other high-value properties. Other recent sales have included lakefront property in Iowa, condominiums in Texas and Wisconsin, and luxury homes in Oregon, Colorado, Michigan and Florida.
