EUSTIS, Fla. - The bodies of two children missing since their family's boat sank on a central Florida lake over the weekend were found Wednesday, authorities said.
Searchers found the bodies of 8-year-old Eric Singleton and his 2-year-old sister Katelyn floating on the surface of Lake Yale, said Kat Kelley, a state fish and wildlife officer.
The parents, Eric and Michelle Singleton, and their 3-month-old daughter, survived the accident and were able to swim to shore.
Mechanical problems caused the boat to sink, and autopsies were planned, the commission said.
"There are no signs of anything else that would indicate anything other than a straight drowning," Kelley said.
