Boil-Water Advisories in Vancouver Area, Nanaimo and Chemainus After Storm

VANCOUVER (CP) - Health officials in Greater Vancouver, Nanaimo and Chemainus are maintaining boil-water advisories.
They were issued after officials recorded the worst-ever levels of turbidity in district watersheds following rain-triggered landslides. It's more than an advisory for hospitals, schools and daycares, as they've been ordered to boil their tap water or use bottled water.
The alerts affect two-(m)-million people in the Vancouver area, 100,000 in Nanaimo and another 1,500 in Chemainus, south of Nanaimo.
B.C. Hydro crews are working from Vancouver Island to Chilliwack to restore electricity to almost 60,000 homes still without power, down from the almost 200,000 at the peak of Wednesday's storm.
The utility says it hopes to get the lights back on by the end of the day.
