Cadence Announces Winners of the Collaborations Award for Excellence in Advancing Design Chain Alliances

Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS) today announced the winners of the first annual Collaborations Award for excellence in supporting design chain alliances. The award winners are: ARM, Fujitsu Limited, ARC International, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). Cadence(R) inaugurated the Collaborations Award at the annual Cadence Design Chain Partners Event held on November 1, 2006 in San Jose, California.
The winners were selected from four finalists in each of four categories -- relationship management, whole product support, joint marketing, and sales support. Cadence works closely with more than 200 companies that are members of the Cadence Connections(R), OpenChoice, ASIC, Foundry and Verification Alliance programs. All were eligible for consideration. The aim of the award is to recognize companies' operational excellence in the advancement of design chain collaboration.
ARM (LSE: ARM) (NASDAQ: ARMHY) received the award in the category of relationship management for the CEO and senior executive-level sponsorship of the alliance and dedicated relationship-management staff.
Fujitsu Limited (TSE: 6702) was the winner in the whole product support category and was recognized for their resource commitment and timeliness of support of Cadence products.
ARC International (LSE: ARK) was the award recipient in the joint marketing category for their participation and sponsorship of multiple joint marketing and business development activities in 2006.
TSMC (NYSE: TSM) received the award in the sales support category for having achieved the highest number of customer references.
