Boil Water Advisory Lifted for 900,000 People in Vancouver Area

VANCOUVER (CP) - Health officials have lifted a boil water advisory that had been in effect for more than a week in the Vancouver area.
The alert was posted after heavy rain earlier this month churned up local reservoirs and left tap water looking cloudy. The initial advisory covered about two million people across the Lower Mainland of southern B.C.
That was later scaled back to cover only Vancouver, West and North Vancouver Burnaby, or about 900,000 residents.
Health officials say the water has now cleared up enough to lift the remaining advisory.
Extensive testing has found no bacterial contamination of the water.
