One educational resource that is open to public school students is the Mathematics & Science Center, located in the former Central Gardens Elementary School in Richmond. It is operated by school divisions in Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, King William, Powhatan and Richmond.
The center offers programs that support school districts in developing students' math and science skills. Annually, approximately 200,000 students, teachers, and parents participate in programs at the center or with visiting center staff and in Saturday and summer courses.
The center has Web-based programs that students can access in the classroom. Teachers can also borrow individual instruction kits for classroom use. Info: (804) 343-6525 or http:// mathsciencecenter.info
