Denise Kmetzo, MPH, Joins Roux Associates to Head Up Its Health &Amp; Environmental Risk Assessment Practice

Ewire -- Roux Associates is pleased to announce that Denise Kmetzo, Master of Public Health (MPH), was recently hired to head up the firm's Health & Environmental Risk Assessment Practice. Kmetzo is based at Roux's office in Burlington, Massachusetts.
As the company's Senior Risk Assessment Team Leader, Kmetzo will be responsible for leading and expanding the company's risk assessment capabilities to evaluate health and environmental exposures, conduct human health risk assessments and statistical evaluations, and determine risk-based cleanup goals for soil, groundwater, and indoor air projects.
"Denise will play an essential role in helping us to broaden and deepen our risk assessment expertise with our CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, and state cleanup projects nationwide," said Paul Roux, CEO. "Her technical expertise will also be crucial in expert witness work in support of complex environmental litigation projects."
A graduate of Boston University's School of Public Health and Middlebury College, Kmetzo previously worked for Woodard & Curran, GZA GeoEnvironmental, the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research at MIT, the French Academy of Sciences, and York Analytical Laboratories. She is the author of peer-reviewed articles and an invited presenter at industry conferences, including the ExxonMobil Global Remediation Conference, the New England Chapter of the Society for Risk Analysis, the University of Massachusetts Annual Soils/Sediments/Water Conference, and a USGS/NRCS workshop.
Kmetzo's expertise in product liability (i.e., exposures to chemicals and building materials) will be utilized on Roux projects as well as by DOMANI Sustainability Consulting, LLP, a wholly owned Roux subsidiary that specializes in green building/LEED and sustainable site services, energy efficiency and process improvement, carbon greenhouse gas services, and strategic sustainability services.
