Fellowship Award to Promote Astronomy

A welsh scientist has won a pounds 100,000 fellowship to promote astronomy in schools. Dr Paul Roche, of the School of Physics and Astronomy at Cardiff University, was one of two winners of the new Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council (PPARC) Science and Society fellowships. He will use the fellowship to continue his work as the National Schools’ Astronomer and support astronomers who want to work in schools.
