By The Environment Agency

As the leading public body for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales it is the Environment Agency’s job to make sure that our air, land and water is looked after by everyone in today’s society.

In the Tees Valley we are dedicated to carrying out this role. And to show this we are fully supporting the Evening Gazette’s Renew, Reuse, Recycle campaign.

Our key priorities for the Tees Valley in 2007 are to limit the risk of flooding to homes and businesses; to promote efficient use of resources; to reduce the amount of fly-tipping that occurs in the area; and to improve the urban environment for residents living in the region.

We are also actively involved with your local councils, big industry and in your communities, encouraging a more responsible attitude toward protecting the environment.

How we live our lives has a direct effect on our local environment in the Tees Valley, and in our surrounding countryside.

Following the guidance supplied through the Renew, Reuse, Recycle campaign we can learn how to limit the impact we have and how we can improve our environment for the benefit of us, our children and for future generations.

And it’s not just about individuals and households – businesses both large and small have a part to play in ensuring we keep our environment healthy.

Through this campaign, and with your support, we believe we can all help to create a better place to live, now and in the future.
