Fishery Reports
By DAVE HOUGHTON
RIVER DANE
Chub are dominating sport and being caught on legered baits such as luncheon meat and floatfished caster. Holmes Chapel and Swettenham have been consistent.
RIVER DEE
Improved water levels will produce good catches of roach at Farndon.
RIVER RIBBLE River levels are back to normal and chub have been showing at Clitheroe and Ribchester.
RIVER WEAVER Brilliant bream and roach fishing in Winsford Town and on the Red Lion with fish being caught both on float and feeder with worm and maggot the best baits. Northwich Town waters are also reliable with a mix of chub, roach and bream.
BRIDGEWATER CANAL Roach, skimmers and perch, appearing on most sections. Chopped worm is proving effective for perch.
LEEDS-LIVERPOOL CANAL A pocket of bream at Hall Lane provided the top three weights from adjacent swims, but there is a better spread of roach coming to punch bread.
SANKEY-ST HELENS CANAL The Upper Pound is fishing well and the low peg numbers are producing lots of roach and skimmer bream.
SHROPSHIRE UNION CANAL Clearer water following recent frosts will affect catch returns but anglers with caster or bloodworm should get some nice roach and skiSmmers.
