Shanghai SECCO to Use Pavilion Software to Meet Polymer Demand

Posted on: Thursday, 8 February 2007, 12:00 CST

Model-based software provider Pavilion Technologies has struck an agreement with Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical Co to deploy its Polymer Solution on six polymer lines at the company's manufacturing facility in the Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park, China.

Through this agreement, SECCO will deploy Pavilion's extruder and reactor control applications to further increase production rates and enhance product quality to meet China's growing market demands. SECCO will deploy Pavilion's control solutions on two Innovene polyethylene lines, one Innovene polypropylene line and three polystyrene lines.

Pavilion said that the agreement further strengthens its leading position in the polymer industry, raising its total number of deployments to more than 90 polymer lines. Although SECCO is the second Chinese company to select Pavilion's offerings, the SECCO project represents the first large-scale deployment of Pavilion's Polymer Solution in China.

According to Pavilion, Polymer Solution, which is based on the company's model predictive control technology, delivers optimization across key areas of the production process, including the reactor, extruder and silo, allowing manufacturers to push the process closer to operating constraints while enhancing product quality.
