KGI Professor Molly Schmid Participates in Symposium on the Renaissance of Microbiology at Annual AAAS Meeting
CLAREMONT, Calif., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ — Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) announced today that Professor Molly Schmid will participate in a symposium and news briefing on the “Renaissance of Microbiology” at the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s (AAAS) annual meeting on Feb. 19 in San Francisco. The theme of the 2007 AAAS annual meeting is “Science and Technology for Sustainable Well-Being”.
Schmid will discuss how the study of microbial communities can contribute to the discovery of new pharmaceutical drugs. As part of her participation in a symposium on the growing importance of microorganisms in today’s biological research, Schmid also will attend a news briefing scheduled for 8 a.m. PST on Feb. 19 on the same subject.
