DEP’s Worthless Rules
February 14, 2007
At least the Maine Department of Environmental Protection is consistent. It seems to me that whenever it proposes a rule to protect the environment or protect critters (such as that recently proposed to protect sandpipers and other migrating coastal birds), if some group complains it either backs off altogether or guts the rule so as to make it practically worthless.
