Notice is hereby given that an application to encroach within the 25′ state waters buffer has been submitted with the Environmental Protection Division as part of the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area’s Recreational Amenity and Infrastructure Improvements project, located at 3300 Evans-to-Locks Rd., Martinez, Georgia 30907. The project includes the paving of existing unimproved pedestrian and vehicular routes for the benefit of the park and its visitors. Proposed improvements require 399 linear feet of buffer disturbance along Reed Creek and the Augusta Canal. Plans may be reviewed in the Facility Services Department, Columbia County Government Center, 630 Ronald Reagan Dr. Building A, Evans, Georgia 30809. Written comments should be submitted to Program Manager, NonPoint Source Program, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Unit, 4220 International Parkway, Suite 101, Atlanta, Georgia 30354.
