Striped Bass Season Opens March 1 on Roanoke River
The entire Roanoke River will open to striped bass fishing from March 1 through April 30 under a new management approach by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission.
Size and creel limits for striped bass will remain the same with a daily creel limit of two per person. The minimum length limit is 18 inches, and no striped bass from 22 to 27 inches may be possessed at any time. Only one striped bass larger than 27 inches may be included in the daily creel limit.

TOURNEY DATES SET: Dates for the Piedmont Two–man Team Bass and Team Crappie Tournaments are set. The dates are: Feb. 24 (Falls Lake), March 10 (Jordan Lake), March 24 (Falls), April 7 (Jordan), May 5 (Jordan), May 26 (Falls), June 2 (Falls), June 23 (Jordan), July 7 (Falls), July 21 (Jordan), Aug. 11 (Falls), Aug. 25 (Falls).
Entry fee for the two–man bass events are $100 per team, and the team crappie events entry fee is $40 per boat.
Ramp locations are at Ledge Rock Wildlife Ramp on Falls Lake and Farrington Point Wildlife Ramp on Jordan Lake.
