Chamber Hands Out Honors at Dinner

By La Crosse Tribune, Wis.

Mar. 6–Randy Eddy Sr., owner and president of Carrier Insurance Agency, was honored Monday with the Chair’s Community Service Award at the 139th annual La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce recognition dinner.

The award recognized Eddy’s years of work with the chamber and community, such as with the North Side Business Association, Old Towne North, Riverfest and MS Society.

Other awards given Monday night included:

–Regional Progress Award to Logistics Health Inc., in recognition of the company’s investment and growth in La Crosse and the effect the business had on the economy of the Seven Rivers Region.

–Leadership Award to state Rep. Mike Huebsch, R-West Salem, the first La Crosse area legislator chosen Speaker of the State Assembly in more than 100 years and a strong supporter of the region since he was elected to the Assembly in 1994.

–Volunteer of the Year Award to Annette O’Hern of the La Crosse School District, for 13 years of service to the chamber as a member of the Business and Student Education Committee. She also helps plan the chamber’s Education After 4 Program and annual career expo.

–Past Chair Award to Pat Smith, managing partner of the La Crosse Radio Group, by this year’s chair of the chamber’s Board of Directors, Deb Carlson of Holiday Inn & Suites.

–Outgoing board members Brain Rude of Dairyland Power Cooperative and Marcia Jagodzinske of Riverfront, Inc., also were thanked for their service.

More than 500 people attended the event at the La Crosse Center.
