GMA/FPA Appoints Paul Noe Vice President of Regulatory Affairs

WASHINGTON, March 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Grocery Manufacturers/Food Products Association (GMA/FPA) president and CEO, Cal Dooley, today announced that Paul Noe has been named Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for GMA/FPA.

Most recently, Noe served as a partner with C&M Capitollink LLC and as legal counsel for Crowell & Moring's Environmental & Natural Resources Group. He worked on policy, legal, political and technical issues in areas such as environment and natural resources, food and drug, agriculture, biotechnology, emerging contaminants, energy, as well as risk assessment and regulatory reform. From 2001-2006, Paul served in the Bush Administration as Counselor to Administrator John Graham at the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). At OMB, he participated in interagency reviews of draft regulations and analyses from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of the Interior, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. From 1995 to 2001, Paul was Senior Counsel to the U.S. Senate Government Affairs Committee for Chairmen Fred Thompson, Ted Stevens and Bill Roth. In the Senate, he worked on a variety of issues including regulatory reform, risk assessment, environmental and administrative law, energy policy, climate change, privacy, federalism, and oversight of the Executive Branch.

In his position as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Noe will be the chief advisor and advocate on legislation and regulation related to environmental issues and consumer products, particularly those involving the EPA, the Consumer Product Safety Commission and sustainability. Paul will also manage GMA/FPA's Consumer Products Policy Committee whose mission it is to support a regulatory and legislative framework that encourages public- private partnerships and applies sound science to environmental issues, manufacturing processes and marketing.
