The FishAmerica Foundation will be offering up to $800,000 in grants for marine and anadromous sportfish habitat restoration projects across the coastal United States and Great Lakes Basin area.

Grants will be awarded to projects that are community-based and restore marine, estuarine and riparian habitats, including salt marshes, seagrass beds, mangrove forests and freshwater habitats that are important to the viability of salmon, striped bass and other andromous fish (those that spawn in freshwater and migrate into saltwater).

The FishAmerica Foundation will accept grants proposals until Feb. 5. Awards up to $50,000 will be awarded in June. Previous grants have funded fish habitats in the Willapa Bay watershed in Washington, Galveston Bay in Texas and Lynnhaven River in Virginia.
