The industrial products group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP has appointed Newcastle partner Richard Bunter to its leadership team to become UK chemicals leader for the firm.

Richard has been with Price- waterhouseCoopers for 20 years and has been partner since 1996. He has worked with a wide range of chemical clients including both domestic and cross-border due diligence assignments, group listings and transactions.

He has previously been on secondment to the Switzerland firm, based in its Geneva office.

Chris Baker, industrial products leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, said: “This is a key appointment for our industrial products group.

“Richard has extensive and in-depth experience of the chemicals sector. The impact of issues like REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) is creating many challenges but also opportunities so Richard’s appointment comes at a dynamic time for the industry.”

Mr Bunter said: “I am delighted to be taking up this role. My experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP has enabled me to build my expertise in the chemicals sector.

“Being based in the North-East gives me an opportunity to work in the heartland of this key sector along with also giving me the prospect to work with businesses in other areas of the UK.”
