Secondary school students in the Nelson region have had a look through the window to dairy farming.

Students from eight schools in the region attended a farm careers day entitled Window to Dairying, held on Murray and Sarah King’s dairy farm last week. The eventfunded by Dairy Insight was run nine times throughout New Zealand last month , with local farmers and industry assisting.

The careers day was broken into six modules, each showcasing a different aspect of a career in dairying including milking hygiene, feed management and finding a job in the industry.

The students also heard career stories from seven young farmers.
