Scientists Successfully Grow Heart Valves From Stem Cells

The stem cells have been used to create tissue which works in the same way as the organ’s valves.

Those behind the study say it raises the possibility of doctors using artificially grown heart components in transplant operations within three years.

They also say a whole human heart could be grown from stem cells within 10 years.
