Canada's Population Hit 31,946,316 on Canada Day This Year, Says StatsCan

OTTAWA (CP) - There were 31,946,316 of us across the country on July 1, says Statistics Canada.
The population grew by 285,850, or 1.1 per cent, from a year earlier, the agency said Wednesday. Nunavut grew by 2.2 per cent in the year. Alberta's population was up 1.9 per cent, followed by Ontario at 1.7 per cent and Northwest Territories at 1.6 per cent. Newfoundland was down by 0.5 per cent, Saskatchewan by 0.4 per cent.
