General Environmental Management, Inc. (GEM) (OTCBB: GEVI), a leading environmental and waste remediation company, has entered into a strategic marketing relationship with Systech Environmental Corporation (Systech). Systech is the premier provider of alternative fuels to its parent, Lafarge North America, which is the largest supplier of cement products in North America and is owned by the world's largest cement and building materials producer, Lafarge S.A. This relationship will enable both companies to more effectively penetrate the national environmental services marketplace while drawing on their respective resources.
Under the agreement, GEM will utilize a portion of Systech's Fredonia, Kansas EPA permitted Part B Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF). GEM will assist in the management of non-fuel waste materials from Fredonia to alternate recycling or disposal facilities. In return, GEM has committed its current and future alternative fuels waste streams to Systech. In addition, GEM will have the opportunity to team with Systech on joint-bid contracts and market their diverse service offering to Systech customers. The service offering by GEM will include EnviroConstruction, mobile water treatment and degassing, proprietary GEMWare data management software, technical field services and environmental health and safety training.
"Our agreement with Systech provides a 'win-win' for both companies. GEM's presence at Fredonia, KS is a key next step in our strategy to expand nationwide and continues our expansion east, while for Systech it secures a long-term fuel source for its kilns," commented Tim Koziol, GEM's Chief Executive Officer.
The agreement also provides the platform for Systech and GEM to explore additional joint business and investment opportunities as they arise.
