ENTRIX, Inc., an environmental and natural resource management consulting firm headquartered in Houston, TX, announced today the addition of Biological Research Associates, LLC ("BRA"). BRA is a Tampa, Florida-based environmental and natural resource management consulting firm with offices in Destin, Panama City, Port St. Joe, Sarasota, Tallahassee, Tampa, and Vero Beach. Founded in 1973 and employing approximately 150, BRA provides science-based consulting for mining companies, transportation specialists, developers, landowners, planners, government agencies, and engineers throughout the state of Florida, the Southeast, and Central America.
With the addition of BRA, ENTRIX now has offices in 36 cities and 20 states in the United States. Four offices are located in California and nine in Florida.
"With a well-established brand in Florida, the addition of Biological Research Associates is important to our overall growth strategy and establishes us as a premier niche environmental and natural resource management consulting firm, especially in Florida and California, the two largest environmental markets," said Dan Taylor, chief executive officer and president of ENTRIX.
BRA is the second add-on to ENTRIX in Florida, after the addition of Water Resource Solutions ("WRS") in 2006. Along with its core natural resource management consulting, BRA also provides water resource solutions and Geographic Information System (GIS) services, marketed respectively under the brands "Integrated Water Solutions" and "Cognocarta."
The integration of Biological Research Associates and ENTRIX benefits existing clients with enhanced environmental and natural resource management consulting services. While BRA brings strong expertise in threatened and endangered species, comprehensive wetland management, water use permitting, as well as strong GIS capabilities, ENTRIX provides -- among a diverse set of services -- renowned services in ecotoxicology and natural resource economics. The latter was enhanced due to the 2004 acquisition of the former Northwest Economic Associates, a Vancouver, WA-based consulting firm.
"The resulting relationship between ENTRIX and Biological Research Associates brings significant benefits to our existing clients needing many highly-specialized environmental and natural resource management consulting services operating under one umbrella," noted Taylor.
