Pottery Barn Store Planned for MB: Market Common Will Be Area’s First Location
By The Sun News, Myrtle Beach, S.C.
May 4–Pottery Barn will open its first Grand Strand store next spring in The Market Common.
The home furnishings retailer will join a Market Common lineup set to include retailers such as Banana Republic, Anthropologie, Williams-Sonoma, Brooks Brothers, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, and Tommy Bahama Restaurant and Store.
A movie theater is also planned.
McCaffery Interests plans to open the 121-acre urban village on the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base by April 2008, with a mix of residential and commercial space.
The flurry of building along the Grand Strand creates a demand for stores such as Pottery Barn, which sells kitchen gadgets, decor and other home items. Other home stores such as Ethan Allen and La-Z-Boy also plan to open locations in the area.
“With Myrtle Beach’s increasing number of primary residences, beach homes, condos and rental properties, Pottery Barn is the ideal store for the growing demand for high-quality home furnishings,” Clayton McCaffery, vice president of leasing for McCaffery Interests, said in a release.
