Compost Bins Selling Out
May 6, 2007
BIRMINGHAM is going compost-crazy.
The city council has sold 3,300 compost bins – at the knockdown price of pounds 10 – in the past two months.
That compares with 4,000 in the whole of last year.
The city council is launching Compost Awareness Week today in a bid to make families even more aware of the benefits of composting with the aim of minimising waste.
For more information on composting, ring 0121 303 1112 or visit the website www.birmingham.gov.uk/recycling.
