SALT LAKE CITY, May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., has become the first law firm in Salt Lake City to sign on with the premier $130 million, 21-story, state-of-the-art high-rise to be located at 222 S. Main Street in the heart of the Salt Lake City business district. Designed by world-famous architects, Skidmore Owing & Merrill LLP, designers of Chicago's Sears Tower, the 222 building is the first high-rise to be constructed in downtown Salt Lake City in more than 10 years. Construction will begin in July 2007 and is expected to be completed in 2009. Brinks' offices will consist of approximately 7,500 square feet, with options to expand as the firm's Salt Lake City office grows. The project is owned by the partnership Hamilton-Wasatch, LLC.
"With more than $1.5 billion in investments committed to the development of downtown, we knew that it was important for our clients and our firm to support and be a part of these efforts to create a thriving community at the heart of the downtown business district," said Steven P. Shurtz, managing partner of Brinks' Salt Lake City office. "This is a very exciting time for Brinks and for our city as we both grow to meet the demands of the flourishing economy in this region."
Brinks will move from its current offices in the Wells Fargo Center into offices in the historic Ken Garff Building at 405 S. Main Street in June 2007, where it will be located until the completion of the 222 building. Both buildings are leased by Wasatch Real Estate Partners.
