WVSU Chemistry Professors Available for School Programs
In recognition of National Chemistry Week, Oct. 17-23, West Virginia State University chemistry professors and student chemistry majors will be available to present programs and demonstrations in local schools and after-school programs.
Dr. Tom Guetzloff, WVSU assistant professor of chemistry, said the activity is part of the Kanawha Valley Local Section of the American Chemical Society’s observation of National Chemistry Week.
This year’s event will focus on health and wellness and their relationship to chemistry. Volunteer chemists from Dow Chemical and others will assist the professors and students.
Guetzloff said the yearly event is aimed at getting children interested in the sciences, especially chemistry.
Elementary and middle school teachers and those in after-school programs should contact Guetzloff at 766-4294.
