Gators Captured in Miami Lakes Area
By Laura Figueroa, The Miami Herald
May 25–Following weeks of sightings and complaints from residents, two alligators were captured in the Miami Lakes area on Friday afternoon.
The two were spotted in a canal along the north side of the Gratigny Expressway near Northwest 67th Avenue and were removed by Pesky Critters, according to witnesses.
Local residents had reported seeing the unwelcome gators for weeks. Warning signs had gone up at parks and bordering locations where the animals had been sighted.
To report gators, residents should call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Nuisance Alligator Hotline, 1-866-FWC-GATOR (1-866-392-4286).
