Omani Institutions Win Environmental Awards

According to “Oman Observer”, a meeting of the GCC ministers responsible for environmental affairs was held in Jeddah. Oman’s delegation to the meeting was headed by Shaikh Abdullah bin Salim al Rowas, Minister of Regional Municipalities , Environment and Water Resources. On the sidelines of the meeting, a ceremony was held to felicitate winners of the GCC Environment Award 2007, including the Omani Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources for the distinguished performance of its Awareness and Information Department, the Sultan Qaboos University as the best environment-supporting educational institution, Oman Cables Industries Company as the best industrial establishment that adheres to environmental standards and criteria.
