Okla. DEQ and EPA to Host Meeting on Refining Company Site
June 1, 2007
The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have scheduled an informational meeting on the Oklahoma Refining Co. Superfund Site from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on June 7 at the Cyril City Hall.
The 220-acre, abandoned petroleum refinery operated about 60 years.
The south portion of the refinery was placed on the National Priorities List in 1988. An investigation for contamination and remediation was completed in 2001.
The informational meeting was scheduled to update the community on work that has taken place at the site and provide information on upcoming work.
