ICIS Insight Asia Launches Its 5th Middle East Petrochemicals Report
SINGAPORE, June 8 /PRNewswire/ — ICIS insight Asia has launched its 5th Middle East Petrochemicals Report, providing an essential guide to what is happening in the most important petrochemical production region in the world.
The Middle East Petrochemicals Report, which is produced every quarter, provides an updated and comprehensive guide to the status of major petrochemical projects across the region.
“The latest edition analyses the social and political reasons behind the shift away from just basic commodities,” said ICIS insight Asia Director, John Richardson.
The Middle East remains a staggeringly competitive place to build basic commodity petrochemical capacity. However, increasingly, overseas companies are being compelled to construct plants producing higher-value-added petrochemicals, along with commodity facilities, in order to win investment approvals. These plants add to capital costs and can generate lower margins.
In the latest issue of the Middle East Petrochemicals Report, the ICIS insight Asia and International eChem team also assess:
– the implications for global supply balances of increased production of petrochemicals such as linear alkyl benzene, the cumene and phenol chain to polycarbonate, acrylonitrile, acetic acid, acrylates and nylon intermediates
– the implications for company profitability of higher capital costs and lower return
– tight gas supply in the Middle East and the increasing awareness of alternative values for natural gas – such as liquefied natural gas (LNG)
– what technology options exist to compensate for the changes in gas availability and pricing
The Middle East Petrochemicals Report provides a summary of all the key news and events over the previous quarter, as well as Excel spreadsheets detailing all the olefins, aromatics and major derivative projects. The spreadsheets contain value-added assessments of start-up dates.
The Middle East Petrochemicals Report has been produced in partnership with International eChem – a UK-based petrochemical consultancy with extensive experience in single-client work in the Middle East.
